Q: How does it work?

Select a painting video. Purchase our art starter kit, it includes all art supplies needed to create your masterpiece! In each video, our professional artists will guide you step-by-step to recreate your chosen painting. You can watch the video in the comfort of your home or anywhere it's convenient for you to paint. It's a great way to explore your creative side and at the end of the video you may have a newfound interest.

Q: What if I’ve never painted before?
A: Our videos assume novice or no painting ability. However, if you are an experienced painter, you will also enjoy our videos. You are encouraged to take your painting to wherever your creativity and talent allow.

Q: Do I have to purchase the art supplies through Art Steps Online?
A: No, although we highly recommend it because our package includes similar art supplies that the artist is uses (you will have the same paint colors and the similar paint brushes).

Q: Do I have to paint the painting in the colors pictured in the painting?
A: No. If you like a painting but want to customize it for any reason (to match your home decor, a favorite color, etc.) you are welcome to do so.

Q: What type of paint do you use?
A: We use water-based acrylic paint. 

Q: How long are the videos?
A: The videos vary in length from 1 to 2 hours. You should be able to complete most painting between 2 and 2.5 hours. 

Q: Do I have to paint as fast as the videos?
A: No. That's one of the many benefits of a video. You are welcome to pause the videos as many times as you'd like for as long as you'd like. Whether you want more time to paint or want to take a break to pour another drink or mingle with friends. 

Q: Can I watch the video more than once?
A: Yes. Upon purchase you will receive an email that allows you to access the video on up to four separate devices.

Q: How do I choose the right painting?
A: We have rated the paintings in a scale of 1 to 3. 1 being the easiest, and 3 being more challenging. We recommend if you have never painted before starting with a painting labeled 1 or 2.
